The SESAR Joint Undertaking invites researchers, engineers, and innovators in air traffic management (ATM), aviation cybersecurity, and civil-military coordination to submit their contributions to SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) 2026, hosted this year by University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland. Whether your work takes the form of a research paper or a poster, this is your opportunity to present it to an international community and help shape the future of European aviation.

Why submit your contribution to SESAR Innovation Days 2026?

SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) is one of Europe’s landmark events in the aviation research calendar, bringing together researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and academics to showcase cutting-edge research and innovation in air traffic management.

Unlike other scientific ATM conferences, the SESAR Innovation Days place a strong emphasis on exploratory research and open knowledge exchange. If you’re working on cutting-edge solutions in airspace management, cybersecurity, automation, or trajectory optimisation, this is the platform to present your work to a global audience of decision-makers, researchers, and industry professionals.

As the aviation sector faces growing challenges — from sustainability and safety to cybersecurity and airspace complexity — research and innovation are more important than ever. SESAR Innovation Days plays an essential role in developing the solutions to these challenges, in line with the EU’s vision of a smarter, more sustainable, and more resilient European aviation system.

By participating, you’ll contribute to shaping the future of aviation, not just in Europe, but globally.

What can you expect at SESAR Innovation Days 2026?

  • Share cutting-edge ATM research results and methodologies.
  • Showcase the latest SESAR research, approaches, and innovations.
  • Foster collaboration between academia and industry.
  • Explore demonstrations and technical exhibits.
  • Take part in site visits to leading aviation partners in the Cork region.

Networking sessions, poster exhibitions, and interactive demos will offer plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded experts and discover innovative solutions to real-world ATM challenges.

This year’s edition will once again host the prestigious SESAR Young Scientist Award, recognising outstanding contributions by early-career researchers in ATM and aviation-related fields.
